Lindy Kahn brings her skills, knowledge and compassion to the field of educational consulting. She founded her firm in 1995 and has helped guide hundreds of families in choosing educational options for her clients. Lindy has successfully counseled top level college bound students to find their dream school. Her own daughters attended some of the nation’s most competitive colleges. She has also helped students struggling with specific learning issues, or those with emotional, behavioral or neurological challenges, as well as assisted academic underachievers to find their ideal school. She is dedicated to finding the most appropriate match, whether it is a school, college or specialized program. Her clients range in age from elementary school, typically 10 or 12 years old, through young adults, 18-28 years old.

Due to her training in psychology and former background as a speech pathologist, her expertise and knowledge to interpret psychological testing, identify children with special needs, counsel with parents and interact with mental health professionals in the field, are valuable assets to serve her clients needs.

Lindy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Queens College, the City University of New York and her Master of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Houston. As a licensed speech pathologist and state certified teacher, her background includes intensive coursework in special education, psychology, educational counseling, diagnostic testing and evaluation of learning-disabled, gifted and non-traditional learners. Lindy is a member of a professional organization of independent educational consultants and holds specific credentials as a Certified Educational Planner. She is committed to the association’s Principles of Good Practice.

In her private practice, she travels extensively all over the U.S., to visit colleges, boarding schools and special needs programs to keep abreast of the latest information. She meets personally with administrators and admissions staff, evaluating these facilities, to provide the most recent information to her clients. Several times a year, she attends professional conferences, which address issues related to educational and therapeutic options.

Mission Statement

I have been committed to working with families for over 18 years to help guide them toward the best educational setting for their child. As a result, I work effortlessly to understand the unique personality, academic and emotional criteria of every student, as well as the individual family dynamic, in order to help navigate the family through the process of making a well informed decision.

Through an organized, well developed system of assessment, planning and personalized service, I, along with my staff, will do whatever it takes to keep clients satisfied throughout the course of choosing the appropriate school option. Through extensive travel all over the U.S., we are able to share our knowledge of schools, colleges and programs with our clients.

Additionally, the research we do utilizes the most up to date resources in order to recommend reliable and suitable treatment options for those children or young adults experiencing psychological or behavioral problems.

Our goal is for every student to find an environment in which they thrive, academically, socially and emotionally, as well as feel prepared to meet the higher educational challenges they will encounter in the future.
